WINTER IN PONTE DI LEGNO
ALPINE SKIING
The ski area, with its 100 km of descents, 41 slopes and 28 lifts, is one of the largest in the Alps and allows you to ski from 1155 meters above sea level in Temù to 3,000 meters at the Presena glacier, with very different routes and a landscape that changes constantly: from centuries-old forests to wide expanses of snow, to perennial snows. You will also have the opportunity to ski at night on illuminated slopes enveloped in a truly evocative atmosphere. There are also activities for the little ones such as sledding and snow-tubing or adrenaline activities such as the snowpark and snowkiting.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND MOUNTAINEERING
The Valsozzine Cross-Country Skiing Center in Ponte di Legno and the Vermiglio Cross-Country Skiing Center in Trentino territory, dedicated to cross-country skiing, offer a total of 30 km of perfectly groomed trails and 8 loops suitable for both beginners and experts.
Fans of skiing with skins, on the other hand, will be able to choose very easy and popular routes, as well as difficult multi-day trails that require physical training and a lot of technique.
ICE SKATING
The four skating rinks within the area will let you spend fun hours between chats and music surrounded by pristine views. The 3 natural facilities (Ponte di Legno, Vermiglio, Passo del Tonale) allow you to skate as long as winter temperatures permit, while the ice rink in Temù remains open to the public from early fall to late spring.
SNOWSHOE HIKING
Snowshoeing is an alternative way to explore the whitewashed mountains and is ideal for non-skiers or simply those who like to experience the mountains at a slow pace. There are more than 20 snowshoeing routes within the area.
SNOWMOBILE TOURS
It is possible to rent a snowmobile independently and whiz around on special tracks or wait until the slopes close to set off on an excursion together with experienced guides, which can end with an unforgettable dinner at a mountain lodge.
SLEDDOG
Thanks to the initiatives of the Italian Sleddog School, adults and children will be able to drive a sled pulled by Siberian dogs through woods and expanses of snow.
